2022 Region 4 Xcel Championships
This Regional meet also includes 7 states, ND, SD, NE, MN,WI, MO & Ia. With approximately 125 Clubs were represented. These ladies came to the meet on fire! Six young ladies represented Ruby and we are so proud of their progress thru the season! Top three podium placings were: Gold -Miss Eve Shannon 1st on beam and All-Around, Miss Zacarah Jindra on Vault and Bars, and Miss Kacie Lynch on Beam. Miss Maddie Dudley and Miss Mila Syhlman competed at Regionals in Minneapolis, Mn. This meet includes 7 states, ND, SD, NE, MN,WI, MO & Ia. Miss Maddie competed Level 6 and Miss Mila, Level 7. We are very proud of both of them hitting routines. Miss Mila went 4 for 4 and Miss Maddie 3 for 4. Miss Maddie came back on the last two events on fire. Maddie brought home Silver in Vault and Floor, while doing personal best in Vault, Beam and All-Around. Mila hit her personal best on Vault, Beam & All-Around. Their placings are below.

2022 Iowa Xcel State Championship
Ruby Xcel Team finished our State meets for the season. Xcel state was held in Sioux City, a long road trip, even some rain, sleet and snow for those traveling in on Thursday. The meet was a well run meet and on time. Thank you to High Five and Siouxland Gymnastics, well done!! Xcel gold medalists: Miss Ella Kapparos on beam, Miss Eve Shannon on vault, beam & All-Around, Miss Zacarah Jindra on vault, Miss Avery Schmitz on Bars, and Miss Hayden Knox on vault & Floor. Silver medalists: Miss Kacie Lynch on Beam, Miss Alicia Ostrich on Vault, Miss Zacarah Jindra in All-Around, Miss Hayden Knox in All-Around. Bronze medalists: Miss Alicia Ostrich on bars, Miss Eve Shannon on bars, Miss Zacarah Jindra on beam, Miss Avery Schmitz on floor and Miss Hayden Knox on beam. 2022 Iowa Developmental Program State Championship
Ruby’s second state meet of the season; the Developmental Program Iowa State Championship held in Ames, hosted by Success. They went over and above in providing a great theme throughout the gym. A huge thank you for a great state meet, well done Success!!!
Highlights from the meet:
Level 3’s came home with a 5th Place Team out of 15 teams. What makes this win so “special” is the fact that Ruby only has 4 gymnasts at this level and went up against teams with a lot larger numbers on their team. This leaves little wiggle room for mistakes. Well done, ladies! Level 4’s also claimed a 4th Place Team. We are so proud of you all and the fire under your wings!

Chow’s Gymnastics Club hosted the Iowa Men’s State Championships this year. Carrying on the Ruby’s on FIRE this year! Ruby’s men’s team came to the meet ready to take names! Event Champions were: Mr. Ames Frein on Vault, Mr. Bo Johnston on Floor, Mr. Dexter Syhlman on Mushroom and P-Bars, Mr. Sparkes Shortway on Vault. The Level 3 Team places 3rd, bringing home Ruby’s first Team Banner in history! Many Records were broken and many personal best. They have set the stage for the next upcoming teams state meets!!! 2022 FIRE & ICE CHALLENGE
Ruby’s were on fire for the fire and ice challenge! All three of the compulsory Teams came home as 1st Place Team Champions! Very excited gymnasts for sure. Level 3 is on a roll, this will be their fourth in a row claiming 1st Place Champs. They went 1, 2, 3 on the awards stand for Bars, Beam and All-Around. We were excited to have 2 of our gymnasts back on the competition floor after recovering from injuries! We are so proud how they continued to condition and run thru dance on beam and floor.

2022 Xcel Winter Wonderland Results
This past weekend a few of our Ruby Xcels competed in the Winter Wonderland Meet. BRONZE Champions were: Miss Hayden Knox taking Gold on Vault, Floor & All-around, Silver on Bars and Bronze on Bars. The Bronze also set a new team record for this year! SILVER Champions were: Miss Zacaraha Jindra claiming Gold in Vault, Bars and All-Around and Miss Eve Shannon took Bronze on Beam. A great showing for Ruby, congratulations ladies! This coming weekend they are all heading to Waverly for the Fire & Ice Meet at the “W”. Our Ruby gentlemen traveled down south to compete Jan. 28th. They has a great meet. Man2022 Kansas City Coed Cly, many personal best! Level 3-1 Mr. Ames competed his first full meet! Way to shine young one. Mr. Dexter Syhlman took SILVER in Vault and BRONZE in P-Bars.
Level 3 Boy’s Team broke many Ruby Records!!! They set a new Team Record 167.10, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault and P-Bar!! Great job young men!!! Bo Johnston tied with two previous gymnasts on Floor (9.7) & Vault (9.6). Team mate Dexter Syhlman set two records P-Bar (10.4) and All-Around (59.80).

Our optionals were last to compete. Our Level 6 Miss Maddie took 1st Place on Floor! It was a beautiful routine which scored a 9.550. Level 7 teammate Miss Mila Syhlman came home with a 2nd Place Floor with a 9.475. Way to go ladies, they were great routines!

Our Compulsory boy’s competed for the 1st time this year. It was a great meet for them. 2021 River City Classic Results
Our Ruby Team families headed for Council Bluff, some started out early on Wednesday to beat the storm. Prayers were said many times for safe travels for all Ruby families and the other clubs participating. Every Ruby was able to make it thru the storm, thank you Lord!
Our warriors started out slowly and then picked up steam. Optional Level 10 Cecelia Conlin claimed BRONZE on vault. Then the Compulsories hit the floor ready to prove themselves. Level 5 Hayden McClellan brought home SILVER on vault and BRONZE on beam. Level 4’s goals were to improve their scores and come home with a team trophy! Fours that wore GOLD were: Miss Bella Kolpek on beam, Miss Katelin Leeper on vault, bars & All-Around, Miss Molly Herford on floor, and Level 3 Miss Ciana Johnston on vault. Wearing SILVER were: Miss Bella on bars, Miss Katelin on floor, Miss Molly on beam and All-Around, Miss Elle Gunnarson on floor, Miss Carsyn Sparrgrove on vault and Miss Sofia Puls on beam. Winning BRONZE medals were: Miss Ciana on floor and teammate Miss Taylor Hughes on floor. Many, many personal bests were awarded!

2021 Cedar Valley Classic Results
Ruby went into this meet ready to make a statement. We are coming ready to claim their right on the podium. The first gymnast to claim GOLD medalist was Level 7 Miss Mila Syhlman on Floor, followed by Level 10 Miss Cecelia Conlin on beam. Level 3 Miss Ciana Johnson in All-Around along with teammate Miss Taylor Hughes on bars. Level 5 Miss Hayden McClellan on beam.
SILVER medalists were Level 8 Miss Camille Schult on vault, Miss Ciana on beam and floor. Level 4 Leilana Syhlman on floor and teammates Katelin Leeper on vault, bars, floor and All-Around along with Elle Gunnarson on floor. Miss Sofia Puls on vault bars and All-Around.

The highlight to the weekend was to watch our two teams when they won team trophy. Level 3 Team brought home a 3rd Place Team!(just the mighty three). Level 4 Team claimed a 2nd Place Team! Great job of all our gymnasts.

Xcels 2nd meet of the season was held by Twisters in Cedar Rapids. GOLD champions were: Silver Miss Eve Shannon on Floor, and Platinum Miss Claire Canady in All-Around. SILVER champions were: Silver Miss Carlee Kammeyer on bars and beam, and Miss Claire Canady on bars, beam and floor. THE SEASON HAS BEGUN! Thank you Lord for the safe travels down and back to the meet in an Iowa winter blizzard. Hardware came clanging home by two Level 8’s; Miss Camille Schult claimed a SILVER in vault, with Miss Cloie Sparrgrove right at her tail taking BRONZE. Level 10 Miss Cecelia Conlin claimed Bronze on floor. Then the Compulsories hit the floor. Rookie Level 3’s took their meet by stride. Miss Ciana Johnson took SILVER on Floor and BRONZE on Beam. Miss Gillian Zambon hung some medals; SILVER for vault, and 2 BRONZE on Beam and All-Around
Miss Taylor Hughes wore 3 SILVER on Vault, bars and All-Around and Bronze on Beam. Next came the Level 4’s, etching to put their first meet of the season under their feet. To start off Miss Bella Kolpeck scored SILVER on bars, Miss Katelin Leeper claimed two GOLD on bars and All-Around, a SILVER on Beam and a BRONZE on Floor. Miss Molly Herford also came home with two GOLD on Beam and Floor, and a SILVER in All-Around. Level 3 Team of only 3 gymnasts came in 5th with the tight points from 2nd to 5th was only .075!!!Way to shine you mighty 3!! Level 4 Team took 4th Place Team, and missed 3rd by .375! Let’s set records this coming meet!!
Xcel did a great job for their first meet. Claiming GOLD: Gold Level Miss Jacqueline Ebensberger on Beam and 2 Platinum claim their fame on floor, Miss Claire Canady and Miss Maggie Haskovec. SILVER medalists were claimed by: Bronze Miss Brynn Miller on Bars and Miss Avery Schmitz on Floor. Silver Miss Lucy Meyers on Bars. Platinums Miss Maggie on Beam and Miss Claire Canady All-Around. BRONZE medal winners were: Bronze, Miss Brynn Miller on Vault, and teammate Miss Brynlee Davis on Beam. Silver’s Miss Lucy Meyers on Floor and Miss Carlee Kammeyer on Beam. Platinums Miss Claire Canady on Bars, Kate Tomlyanovich on Beam and Floor. Xcel Bronze took 7th Team, Xcel Silver Team took 5th, Xcel Gold took 6th team and the Xcel Platinum took 5th, with only 3 gymnasts.
